Hull Cleaning & Maintenance Plans

The core of what we do. A diver comes to your slip on a set schedule and cleans the hull in the water, so barnacles and slime never get the chance to build up.

Why a regular plan beats a one-time scrub

In Tampa Bay water, a clean hull does not stay clean for long. Warm salt water, sun, and a boat that sits still at the dock are exactly what barnacles and algae want. Growth starts as soft slime within a couple of weeks and turns into hard barnacles inside a month or two. Once it is hard, it drags on the hull, burns extra fuel, slows you down, and can chew through bottom paint years early.

A maintenance plan keeps that from ever starting. When a diver cleans the hull every two weeks or every month, the growth stays soft and comes off easily, the bottom paint lasts longer, and your boat is always ready to run. It also costs less over a year than letting a boat foul up and paying for heavy correction or an early haul-out.

What a scheduled cleaning covers

  • Full hull wiped down below the waterline, from bow to transom
  • Waterline and boot stripe scrubbed clean
  • Running gear, props, and shafts cleared of growth
  • Trim tabs, intakes, and transducers checked and cleared
  • Sacrificial zinc anodes checked, and replaced when worn (parts billed separately)
  • A quick heads-up if we spot anything under the boat that needs your attention

How often should you have it done?

Most boat owners in Tampa Bay do best on a monthly plan. If your boat lives in the water year round, sits in a warm marina, or you run it often and want every bit of speed, every two weeks keeps it in top shape. We will give you an honest recommendation for your boat when we quote it. No lock-in, and you can change the frequency any time.

Questions

Hull Cleaning & Maintenance Plans FAQ

How often should I have my boat's hull cleaned in Tampa Bay?
Most boats in Tampa Bay do best with a monthly cleaning. Boats that stay in the water year round or run often are better on an every-two-week plan. The warm salt water here grows barnacles fast, so a regular schedule is far cheaper than letting growth harden and paying to correct it later.
Do you clean the hull in the water, or do I have to haul out?
We clean in the water, right at your slip. A diver goes down and cleans the whole hull, running gear, and waterline while the boat stays where it is. You do not need to move it, trailer it, or haul it out.
Will regular cleaning save me money on fuel?
Yes. A fouled hull creates drag, and drag burns fuel and cuts your top speed. Keeping the hull clean lets the boat run the way it was built to, so you use less fuel to go the same distance and put less strain on the engine.
Is there a contract or minimum commitment?
No lock-in. We set a schedule that fits your boat and how you use it, and you can pause or change it any time. Most owners stay on a plan because a clean hull is easier and cheaper to keep up than to fix.
